Vacuum cleaners are electrically generated portable appliances that are used to remove loose dirt and dust from fabrics, rugs, and other surfaces. They simply work by a suction method where the dirt collected goes into a dust bag or cyclone for later disposal. They are used domestically, in industries, and exist in various sizes and models

Introduction

The very first appliance came into existence by Hubert Cecil Booth, a British engineer on August 30, 1901. It took the form of a horse-drawn, petrol-driven unit. His first demonstration of a vacuuming device was presented in a restaurant to show how well it can suck dirt. Later in the years, other inventors came along with different variations and designs.

Types of Vacuum Cleaners

Handheld Vacuum Cleaners

These are the foremost commonly used on areas or surfaces that are hard to reach that desperately require cleaning. It is most commonly used in cars and as the name suggests, it is held by one hand when used. Handhelds cannot be used in general floor cleaning as they would take up a lot of time since they are used by one hand. 

Upright Vacuum Cleaners

These are the most commonly used forms of cleaners. They are comfortable to use as it is used in an upright position and it also comes with easy-to-use and understood functions. They are designed with models to not only clean the carpets but also be used on bare floors and with these facts; they appear to be the most exquisite types of vacuum cleaner.

Stick Vacuum Cleaners

These are the least powerful types of cleaners. They are designed to get into narrow places and do colossal jobs on hardwood floors, area rugs, and light carpeting. They feature a long stick-like handle and slim style construction which is an addition to any closet space since it fits perfectly when tucked neatly into a corner once it has completed its purpose.

Canister Vacuum Cleaners 

These are invented to work like the upright and stick cleaners combined. They are powerful just like the upright cleaners with a slim frame like the stick cleaners. The cleaners have a separate canister attached to a long wand used to maintain not just carpets but bare floors as well. This model is the most expensive option given its multi-functional design.

Robotic vacuum cleaners

These are not the strongest cleaners but it is preferred in cleaning as it can keep your house clean even if you are away. They use several different sensors to navigate, the sensors work together with bumper sensors to warn if they run into something and infrared sensors to warn when they are about to fall off a step.

Conclusion

Vacuum cleaners have taken over the traditional methods of cleaning. They save time, energy and contribute to providing a safe and healthy environment which makes them the best tool for the betterment of our lives. They come in different types and prices therefore an individual can purchase what he or she is comfortable with.
